Qatar, US Air Force Chiefs Discuss Expanding Military Cooperation
The meeting took place during Lasica’s visit to Qatar and was attended by members of his delegation alongside senior military officers from both countries, according to a statement from Qatar’s Defense Ministry.
Discussions focused on matters of shared interest and opportunities to strengthen and further develop cooperation between the two air forces. The ministry did not disclose how long the US commander would remain in Qatar or provide further information about the subjects addressed during the talks.
The meeting followed a previous encounter between the two commanders in the United States approximately one week earlier, during Al-Ghanem’s visit in late October.
On Oct. 27, Qatar’s Defense Ministry announced that Al-Ghanem had traveled to the US and met Lasica at Shaw Air Force Base.
His itinerary also featured a visit to General Atomics’ MQ-9B drone production line in California, along with tours of several US defense companies.
